Acquired by Maurice Duruflé in 1930, the apartment is
located on the top floor of a building located at Place du
Panthéon, opposite the church of St Etienne du Mont
where Maurice Duruflé obtained the position of ‘titulaire’
the previous year. In 1953 Marie-Madeleine Duruflé-
Chevalier came to live with him in the apartment, which she
occupied until 1999. It has an exceptional view of the
capital. Frédéric Blanc is the curator nowadays.
The organ, located in the main room, was built in 1967 by
Gonzalez. It was harmonized by Jacques Bertrand and Jean-
Marc Cicchero, under the direction of Maurice Duruflé
himself and has a harmony of great beauty.
